Artist Statement

I am a Manchester based visual artist who makes work in response to the context of my surroundings and use different mediums such as live art intervention, performance lectures, sound and video. I punctuate situations in public and private spaces by playing out a series of actions, which takes on many forms, in order to disrupt the expectations of the audience. I use props and stages as a way of leading the audience into the work to reveal certain power structures within social and performative situations. By using physical and psychological intervention engages and heightens the audiences experience of the work. I have exhibited at the Greenroom, Manchester and at the Bluecoat in Liverpool, and have collaborated with individuals and artist groups in the north west and north east of England.
